EXHALE EP (2022)

After establishing themselves with their breakthrough debut EP ‘Lore’ last year, a release that was heavily praised by BBC Introducing, Sheffield-via-London duo Holozoa have now returned to deliver their sophomore collection ‘Exhale’.

Capturing more of the same bold and vivid textures they have built a reputation for, this new five-track offering showcases them in a fresh and dynamic light. Blending warm and effervescent electronic textures with broad and soaring vocals throughout has given ‘Exhale’ a brilliantly inventive and adventurous atmosphere throughout.

While ‘Lore’ certainly broke them into the scene, ‘Exhale’ sees them take their vibrant direction and push it to its outer limits. Brave and innovative with almost every stride, there is something truly special about these new cuts that really feel like they are on the cusp of something great in the months to come.

Striking a chord with fans and tastemakers straight off the bat, Lore earned the duo radio spins on BBC Introducing Sheffield, while “Control” was featured in Out Now Magazine’s Top 50 songs playlist. While they’ve never played the Glastonbury as Holozoa, an early version of “Wych” was played by Lex during one of his DJ sets at the iconic festival.

Now they’re back with their latest release and their sophomore EP titled Exhale. Featuring five new original tracks, with their new work, Holozoa push the boundary of their unique creative vision even further.

Written during lockdown and recorded and produced in their respective homes in London and Sheffield, Exhale showcases Holozoa’s inspiring synth-driven pop sound. Full of grooving rhythms, pulsating synth lines and soaring vocal leads, with their latest EP, the duo demonstrate both their knack for writing infectious electro pop music as well as their penchant for creating something entirely new.
